About Me
I am a freelance reporter working from Montreal, with an expertise on Quebec's Arctic region called Nunavik.
The story began in 2021, when I was still an undergraduate studying journalism at Concordia University. An opportunity for me to work for Statistics Canada came to me during the summer. Little did I know, this opportunity brought me to Kuujjuaraapik, Nunavik, where I was sent to interview households about various different topic.
That summer began it all, I travelled multiple communities for two months, taking in every drop of information I could about the region.
I have since travelled to Nunavik countless times, lived in Kuujjuaq for two and a half years, and I intend on travelling there for the rest of my life.
Now, I am doing my Master's degree in journalism, single-minded in bringing the theory of engagement journalism to the region, and continuing my efforts in bringing thoughtful, community-based and detailed reporting from a region that needs to be better represented in the media.
